Golden Jubilee
Commemorative Medal
The year 2002 was The Queens Golden Jubilee Year. The Queen commemorated Her Golden Jubilee with a medal to be given to all current Servicemen who have served for 5 years or more. For those who do not fit into this category, there is to be no official award.

As a result, Mr. George Harris in association with the Bigbury Mint have designed and produced a medal that is available to all ex-servicemen and women. The design has been carefully researched by David Holland and accepted for use by Buckingham Palace. The portrait was inspired by Pietro Annigoni’s popular depiction of a youthful, beautiful Queen, painted in 1955, which is now held at Fishmongers Hall. The reverse shows the Queens Armorial Shield and Motto.

In addition to being available to all service personnel, Mr. George Harris is also helping raise money for a national charity SSAFA receive a donation from each medal sold.
